Tony Hernando is one of the most exciting Rock guitarists in Europe today. With four solo albums, including the been acclaimed by both public and critic “III”, a stunning Live DVD / CD, and a brand new and strong release entitled “Actual Events” Tony Hernando´s growing popularity breaks through guitar community and styles, and shares the stages with some of the most important and respected artists in the business.
Born in Salamanca, Spain, Tony starts very early his music education at Superior Conservatory of Music, and begins playing electric guitar selfthought. Later on he attends Jazz academy I.M.T. in Madrid and Musicians Institute´s G.I.T. in Hollywood, California.
During his stay in Los Angeles, Tony took private lessons and assisted to numerous seminars and masterclasses with some of the greatest guitarists in business, some of whom would become close friends and would even collaborate with Tony in the future.
Back in Spain Tony started teaching guitar lessons at different schools and privately, writing guitar articles and columns for various guitar magazines, and starts as endorser for music companies such Ibanez and Line 6.
In 2000 Tony produces his first solo album entitled “High”, just for the need of enough own music to play in the numerous shows, clinics and Masterclassses that were keeping him super busy, till he decides to have a break and prepare a true instrumental solo album with no other than drummer Mike Terrana and very special guests like Andy Timmons and keyboard player Vitalij Kuprij. Released under the label Lion Music, it was entitled “The shades of truth”.
Live performances for promoting the album during 2003 included the owns Tony´s GuitarFest Tour with Andy Timmons Band and swedish Freak Kitchen and London´s JemFest.
After another break for writing his best songs to date, Tony produces a strong album which would be acclaimed by both public and critic under the titled of “III”.
The second edition of the GuitarFest Tour would take place with italian extraordinarie- and long time friend- fusion guitarist William Stravato, super star and world class guitarist Richie Kotzen and Tony Hernando himself; a blast of a tour!!
The following release would be a stunning Live DVD/CD entitled “THIII Live!”, recorded during the promo tours in 2005 featuring Mike Terrana on drums.
Later on Tony joins the Spanish metal band Saratoga, recording a great album “VII” with classic metal and prog elements, following a long promo tour. Tony finds a little time spot to record the long awaited new solo album, once again with Mike Terrana on drums, but this time recorded at Roland Grapow´s studios. The new album, entitled “Actual events” is Tony´s strongest album to date, featuring 11 furious instrumentals with a strong sense of melody and aggressive approach. With a top production, good compositions and a passionate playing by Tony Hernando and one of the best drumming performances in years by Mike Terrana, “Actual events” is a heavy sounding yet catchy and interesting album.
